Breakfast With Santa

Our ward had breakfast with Santa this morning. Kinsey was (for the first time) EXCITED to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she wants for Christmas. Van? He just wanted the candy cane that was handed out after sitting on Santa's lap. Hehehe. They had a great time and Kinsey is SURE she is going to get what she asked for - we'll see. Our Elf on the Shelf Jangles - is certainly watching them.

Clifford the Big Red Dog

Kinsey's school recently had a book fair. We attended the family night which included a close-up look at a real fire-truck and some firefighters. The highlight for Van was that Clifford was there. Van followed him ALL over the school and couldn't get enough of him. In fact, when we returned a few days later for Kinsey's music program - Van was terribly disappointed because Clifford was not there.

We Welcome Baby Jett

November 12, 2010 6:52am Jett Ridley Moore joined our family. He weighed in at 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 and 3/4 inches long. We were all soooo excited to meet him. He is an exact replica of Van with the exception that he has "jett" black hair. (Van has always been blond!)

Daddy/Daughter Princess Ball

Tonight Kinsey and Daddy went to a Daddy/Daughter Ball. Kinsey was determined she was to look the part of a princess. She was set on this white dress - "because it twirls just right". The shoes were named "Cinderella Shoes" which she thought was perfect and the tiara "looks just like the one Princess Aurora wears". I don't think she could have been any more excited about the flowers - which she picked out herself. In the dressing room - she just kept saying, "Daddy is just going to LOVE this dress." He did, of course. He looked quite smashing in his tuxedo. Kinsey was worried that she didn't know how to dance - but once daddy showed her a few steps and she caught on pretty quickly - she got excited. Then she started showing him some steps of her own. What a fantastic thing to do together.

Van was terribly disappointed that he didn't get to go. But seemed okay once we sat down to watch Buzz Lightyear together. What a fabulous evening!!

New House, New State, New 'Do', New Shoes!!!

Kinsey and I attended a High School Production of "Beauty and the Beast" last night. It was really good - she loved it! Most of all, she loved showing off her new haircut and her new shoes! This morning when she came down the stairs she said -"Look mom - I still have my cute haircut!". It was an ordeal to cut the hair yesterday - but she loves it - YEAH!!

It's a Marshmallow World in Parker, Colorado

This is the gorgeous view from the picture windows on the backside of our house this morning. It is a Marshmallow World! Kinsey and Van have been enjoying fresh "snowsicles" all morning. (or snow ice cream - however, you like to look at it!)

The snow is still falling although it is very light now - - and the Rainbow crew just arrived to put up our swingset - EVEN in all this snow!! The kids can hardly wait to swing and Kinsey has been asking all morning if we could go out and swing as soon as they are done. I am just not sure we could make it to the swingset as we are still not truly outfitted for snow (hats, gloves, snowboots, etc.)

On another note - I had a FABULOUS find on Craigslist yesterday to add to my home. I found the most adorable vintage sewing table for $25!!! It even has a little drawer for odds and ends like string, needles, etc. It was a steal - I will definitely have to replace the knobs - but otherwise, I am in love. Here are some pics. I LOVE Craigslist.

Easter Eggstravaganza

This morning we awoke to some eggstra excitement in our house as the Easter Bunny had visited during the night. He had strategically placed eggs all around the main floor of our house - Kinsey and Van had soooooo much fun finding them. The Easter baskets were definitely the highlight this morning - and the chocolate bunnies were the favorite items. (I must admit - they had been practicing hiding eggs and finding them all week - so they were well-prepared for this big event.) Our hard-boiled eggs were decorated yesterday in-between conference with Disney Princess stickers - Oh, so fun. We started breakfast with my Dad's FAMOUS French Toast recipe - we call it General Conference French Toast - because we always make it then! Mmmmmm Delicious TRADITIONS!!

We are preparing for a very special Easter Dinner tonight with some friends of ours -Blair & Misty Weed who have four children. We are making a Juicy Ham, Jerusalem Artichoke & Spinach Dip with baguette slices, Creamed Peas and Potatoes, Steamed Carrots(with green tops still on - so we feel like rabbits in the garden), Homemade Rolls and an incredibly delicious Trifle. We have some cute activity sheets for the kids - adorable placecards that look like nests - see the cute pics! And of course - we are going to talk about the real story of Easter - can hardly wait!! What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday - (especially when you include General Conference!)

We are excited as this is our first Easter Dinner away from home - we miss our families - but it will be so much fun to begin to make our own traditions.

We Made it to Colorado!!!!!

Well we did make it safe and sound - though Kinsey was sick with a fever the whole way - NO FUN!! We spent two weeks in a hotel - (also not so fun!) we did a lot of exploring - - and now we are in our house. I have a bunch of Pictures to post - so I hope you enjoy them. So far - we have visited the Denver Zoo - amazing - they even have penquins and polar bears and the komodo dragons come right up next to you, the Wildlife Experience, the Aquarium, sat in front row seats for The St. Patrick's Day parade (5 hours long!!! - admission - we only stayed for 3 hours) and have been pleased to have MANY playdates. We are loving Denver. We know we are supposed to be here.
